Turn a real portrait into a retro yearbook card. Adjust the crop, add a caption and export a full-size PNG directly from your browser.
Start with a portrait that already works
The editor preserves the person, clothing and background in your original photo. A shoulders-up image with even lighting gives you the most room to create a convincing yearbook crop. Leave some space above the head, avoid a tiny face in a group photograph, and use a background you want to keep. The tool cannot recover detail that is missing from a blurry original. If the face becomes soft when you zoom in, back the crop out or choose a higher-resolution photo.
Build the retro look with restraint
Warm 1990s adds a mild sepia tone and softer color, while Classic monochrome removes color and increases contrast. Faded color reduces saturation for a printed-album feel. Grain adds a subtle texture over the photo, not over the caption. Keep the subject near the center, leave enough headroom, and use a short class label. A single understated treatment usually reads more like an old print than an extreme filter. The square layout works well for social posts; the portrait layout gives the photograph more room.
Export and share your finished card
The PNG download includes the exact crop, filter, border and text shown in the preview. It is 1200 pixels wide, regardless of your screen size. Cropping and export take place in the browser, without an image upload or an account. The editor creates a separate file and does not overwrite the source. Save the output before closing the page. This site is a local photo compositor despite the domain name: it does not synthesize an alternate person or claim that a styling filter is an AI model.
How the result is made
Browser Canvas draws an aspect-ratio-preserving crop into a fixed-size layout. Standard image filters and deterministic grain create the print treatment. No biometric analysis or generative model is used.
